Videoconferencing allows people at two or more locations to see and hear each other at the same time. Point-to-point videoconferencing allows for two parties to communicate from two different sites. Multi point videoconferencing allows for multiple people at multiple sites to participate in one video conference.
Higher Education faculty or staff who want to request to host or to participate in a video conference for educational, administrative or research purposes must:

- have access to a videoconferencing facility,
- have a network connection to the LONI or any other ISP connection to LONI,
- know the date and time of video conference
- supply information about the hosting or participating site(s).
